Scotland Have 'Capability' to Make History at Euro 2024, Says McGinn

Scotland midfielder John McGinn believes his country has the mentality and ability to defy expectations and reach the knockout stages of Euro 2024.

Despite suffering a heartbreaking defeat to Hungary in their opening match, McGinn insists that the squad remains confident in its ability to make a positive impact on the tournament.

“We're a team that's full of confidence and belief,” McGinn said. “We know we've got the quality to compete with the best teams in Europe, and we're determined to prove people wrong.”

Scotland will need to improve on their performance against Hungary if they are to progress to the knockout stages. The team struggled to create chances and was vulnerable to counterattacks, and McGinn admits that there are areas that need to be addressed.

“We need to be more clinical in front of goal and we need to be more solid defensively,” McGinn said. “But we've got the players to do it, and we're confident that we can turn things around.”

Scotland's next match is against Germany on Tuesday, and McGinn believes that it is a must-win game for his team.

“We know it's going to be a tough game, but we're ready for it,” McGinn said. “We're going to go out there and give it everything we've got.”
