IndiGo Mumbai Flight Skids Off Runway During Takeoff, 15 Injured

An IndiGo flight from Mumbai to Kolkata skidded off the runway during takeoff on Tuesday, injuring 15 people.

The plane, carrying 184 passengers and six crew members, veered off the runway at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport around 12:30 p.m. local time.

The aircraft came to a halt in a grassy area near the runway, and emergency services were quickly dispatched to the scene.

All passengers and crew members were evacuated from the plane safely, but 15 people were injured, including two who are reported to be in serious condition.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation, but preliminary reports suggest that the plane may have suffered a tire burst during takeoff.

IndiGo has released a statement expressing its regret over the incident and is cooperating with authorities to investigate the cause.
