Badaun Stadium to Host District-Level Cricket Tournament in Honor of Major Dhyan Chand
Commemorating the Birth Anniversary of Hockey Legend
To commemorate the birth anniversary of legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand, a district-level cricket tournament will be held at the Badaun Stadium from August 28 to 31.
The tournament is being organized by the Badaun District Sports Association with the support of the district administration. The association has allocated a budget of 10 lakh rupees for the event.
Tournament Format and Prizes
- The tournament will be played in a 50-over format with eight teams participating.
- The winning team will receive a trophy and a cash prize of ₹50,000.
- The runner-up team will receive a trophy and a cash prize of ₹25,000.
The tournament aims to promote cricket at the district level and identify talented players for future training and development. It will also encourage young people to take up sports and lead active lifestyles.
Other Events During the Tournament
- A water conservation week will be observed from August 21 to 29 alongside the tournament.
- Awareness programs on water conservation will be conducted during the tournament to educate the public about the importance of water resources.
The tournament is expected to attract a large number of cricket enthusiasts and provide a platform for local athletes to showcase their skills. It will also contribute to the overall development of sports in the Badaun district.
