Benn ejected early in third period
WEB May 24 2023 514 PM Dallas Stars captain Jamie Benn was suspended two games for a cross-check on Vegas Golden Knights captain Mark Stone. The incident occurred less than two minutes into the third period of Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals, with the Golden Knights leading 1-0.
Benn was given a five-minute major for the cross-check and was ejected from the game. The Stars went on to lose 3-1, giving the Golden Knights a 3-0 lead in the series.
The Stars will now be without their captain for the next two games of the series. Benn is the Stars' leading scorer in the playoffs with 12 points (6 goals, 6 assists) in nine games.
The Golden Knights will look to close out the series in Game 4 on Friday night in Dallas.
